| Attend Pre-Placement Training. Focus provides this training at no cost to you. Once you are licensed, you will be paid a training stipend of $240. Pre-Placement training is a total of 24 hours, divided into eight 3-hour sessions held once weekly.

| Prior to becoming a licensed foster parent, each adult household member must complete national and state background checks (fingerprints) and local and county background checks (criminal and traffic).

| Every home must be inspected and approved by a fire inspector.
|
| Each family member must have a medical statement completed by a physician.
|
| Provide a copy of your driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
|
| A packet of state required forms must be completed (Don't worry, we'll help you).
|
| Completion of a homestudy. A homestudy involves a Focus on Youth family assessor coming to your home at least three times. This is where we talk to you and your family to learn what child would fit best in your home.
