April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This month, we recognize the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect.
According to the CDC, child abuse and neglect by parents, caregivers, and those in authority roles, continue to be serious public health concerns and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) that have long-term impacts on health, opportunity, and well-being.
At Focus on Youth, we advocate for and provide safe homes for vulnerable children in Southwest Ohio through foster families and behavioral health services. The hundreds of youth we serve each year depend on caregivers and their communities to keep them safe. Every day, we see the incredible impact one loving adult can have on a child. Run/Walk With Us
Show your care by running or walking with us on April 6, 2024. Our annual 5K CARE Walk/Run will start and finish at the UC Health Fieldhouse in Voice of America Metropark. Proceeds will help break the cycle of abuse and neglect by providing vital behavioral health services to more kids and their families. Let’s CARE Together and raise awareness about child abuse prevention.
